Strategic advisory for coaches, consultants & advisors

You are not underqualified. You are under-positioned.

Your work is excellent and your clients say so. You are still being weighed against people who do a fraction of what you do, and priced against them too. That is not a capability problem. It is a legibility problem, and it can be fixed.

Women she trained, into work AI then took

She built the agency that taught women across Africa to work as virtual assistants, then watched AI end the whole category. That is where this advice comes from.

The real problem

The market has not run out of experts.

It has run out of ways to tell them apart.

Fifteen years of judgement now sits on a landing page next to somebody's third month in business, described in almost identical language. The buyer cannot see the difference. So they do what any rational buyer does when two options look the same. They choose on price, or they choose whoever feels safest.

Most experts respond by working harder at visibility. More posts, more platforms, more content. But visibility only amplifies the signal you are already sending. If that signal is vague, volume makes you familiar without ever making you the obvious choice.

Authority is a different instrument. It is what makes comparison feel beside the point, because there is nothing obvious to compare you to.

The Authority Economy

The market has split in two. The middle is where the pressure is.

AI has absorbed the work that used to justify a mid-tier fee. What survives at the top is not knowledge, because knowledge is now free and instant. What survives is judgement, discernment, and a reputation the buyer already trusts before the first call.

Economy One

Sold by comparison

Where competence is assumed, deliverables get itemised, and the conversation ends up being about rate.

  • Positioned by category: "business coach", "marketing consultant"
  • Wins on responsiveness, proposals and price
  • Pipeline depends on constant output
  • Directly exposed to what AI now does for free

Economy Two

Sold by recognition

Where you are hired for a specific kind of thinking, and the fee follows the stakes rather than the hours.

  • Positioned by problem and point of view, not job title
  • Referred and recommended before you are compared
  • Pipeline runs on placement, not volume
  • AI makes the judgement you sell worth more, not less

Almost nobody moves between the two by accident. It takes a deliberate repositioning, and that is the whole subject of this practice.

The work

Three moves, in this order.

Most positioning advice starts with messaging, which is the last thing that should change. If the underlying decision is wrong, better words only make the wrong thing more persuasive. We work from the inside out.

01

Decide what you are for

Not your niche. Your claim. The specific, contested problem you are willing to be the answer to, stated narrowly enough that it excludes people. That exclusion is what makes it work. Most experts have never said this out loud, which is why the market has to guess.

02

Build the signals that carry it

Authority is inferred, not announced. We construct the evidence a serious buyer actually reads: the point of view, the framework with your name on it, the proof, the stage, the essay, the room you are seen in. Fewer signals, chosen deliberately, placed where your buyers already are.

03

Architect the pipeline behind it

Authority without architecture produces admiration and no revenue. We design the offer ladder, the fee logic, and the route from first contact to signed engagement, so recognition converts on purpose instead of by luck.

Ways in

Start where you actually are.

One decision, one day, an ongoing room of peers, or an AI build inside your practice. Every engagement begins with the same short application, so you end up in the right one rather than the biggest one.

Sixty minutes

The Advisory Hour

One decision, one hour, a direct answer. For the question that has been sitting open for weeks because there is nobody senior enough to ask.

  • Pre-session brief so we start at depth
  • A clear recommendation, not a list of options
  • Written summary of what to do next
Book directly Book the hour

Twice monthly

The SPAR Room

Strategic Peer Advisory. Eight to ten curated members, twice-monthly sessions, hot-seat advisory and strategic teaching. The room most experts assume they will find and never do.

  • Capped at ten, and curated for composition
  • Hot seats on live decisions, not hypotheticals
  • Peers who can actually challenge you
By application See the room

One day

The Positioning VIP Day

A single intensive day on positioning, offer architecture, or visibility strategy. It ends with decisions made and an execution plan, not a document you will reread once.

  • Diagnostic and pre-work before the day
  • Deliverables built live, with you
  • Execution plan and follow-through checkpoint
By application See the day

Where this comes from

I trained 50,000 women for work that no longer exists.

Before the advisory practice there was an agency, and before the agency there was one virtual assistant hired in Kenya. That became a training engine that put more than 50,000 women from disadvantaged communities across Africa into paid remote work.

Then AI took that tier of work. Not some of it, the category. Clients stopped hiring, rates collapsed, and we closed the training and wound the agency down.

So I am not speculating about what AI does to knowledge work. I watched it happen to fifty thousand people I was responsible for, and I know which people it came for first. It came for the ones sold by task, priced by the hour, and impossible to tell apart.

Speaking

Book the session people are still arguing about at lunch.

Thembi speaks on the Authority Economy, on converting stages into clients, and on what AI is actually doing to knowledge work. Conferences, masterminds, associations and corporate leadership programmes across three continents.

These are not motivational sessions. Organisers report that hers generates more post-talk conversation than any other slot on the programme, because the audience leaves with a decision to make rather than a feeling to enjoy.

A limited number of engagements are accepted each quarter.

The weekly essay

Read her before you hire her.

One essay a week on authority, positioning, and building an expert practice that does not depend on being everywhere at once.

No sequence, no funnel, no seven-part masterclass waiting on the other side. Just the thinking, weekly, so you can decide for yourself whether it is any good. That is a more honest test than anything a sales page can tell you.

The next step

Being the best-kept secret is not a strategy.

The application takes about five minutes. Thembi reads every one herself and replies within 48 hours. If there is a fit, you will be invited to a short conversation. If there is not, she will tell you that too, and point you somewhere better.
