Confessions of a Podcast Newbie
Behind the Scenes of My Podcast Journey
Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of research for my upcoming podcast, and I have to admit, I have a bold goal for it—I want it to land in the new and noteworthy section when it comes out.
Now, I know that might sound a little egotistical, but I’ve learned that it’s important to declare what you want and be unapologetically bold about it. So, here I am, putting it out into the universe!
Since my podcast will be both video and audio, I’ve been binge-watching other podcasts as part of my research.
Let me tell you, I think I’ve been living under a rock because I’ve come across some seriously interesting (and eye-opening) content that I feel like my friends have known about forever.
Here are some podcasts I’ve recently come across that caught me completely off guard:
Obesity is a disease
What If Your Dog Could Run Your Business?
Procrastination is a disease
Well the first 2 were interesting for me, as I could use help from a 4 legged friend. The last one, lets just say, I still need a bit more convincing.
Maybe I’ve been too quick to judge! Anyway, it’s been
But after listening to these experts and diving deeper, I realized there’s a lot more to these “diseases” than I ever considered.
Maybe I’ve been too quick to judge! Anyway, it’s been a fascinating journey of self-discovery as I prepare for my own podcast.
The Background Dilemma: Outdoors vs. Indoor Studio Setup
One of the trickiest parts of podcasting has been figuring out the perfect background. I’m someone who loves being outdoors.
The greenery, the water, the fresh air—it all sparks my creativity. But as I quickly realized, the background noise from the outside is a major nuisance, especially if I want crisp, clear audio.
That’s when I started contemplating recording indoors.
The challenge with that is that I need either a studio or an office setup, and let me tell you, those can feel pretty constricting.
I want the vibe to be open and inspiring—not stuck in some confined space. Sure, you can always use those fancy Zoom backgrounds, but have you ever noticed how fake they look? Not exactly the vibe I’m going for!
Tomorrow, my podcast assistant is coming over, and we’re going to decide this together.
Fingers crossed, we find a solution that works for both of us because, honestly, figuring this out has been quite the headache. Or maybe it’s just that procrastination disease kicking in again. Who knows?
Progress and Excitement: Camera, Mic, and Scripts!
Despite the background dilemma, I’m making serious progress. I just received my Amazon shipment with the new camera and microphone—things are starting to feel real!
I spent all of last week scripting and preparing for the first 13 episodes of the podcast. It’s such an exciting feeling to have the foundation set for something that’s been on my mind for so long.
This is happening, and I can’t wait to bring you along for the ride!
Final Thoughts
The research, the equipment, the backgrounds, the scripts—it’s all coming together in such an exciting way.
Yes, there have been moments of frustration (hello, procrastination), but I’m feeling so ready to hit record and get started.
This podcast is going to be a place where I can connect with you, share valuable insights, and hopefully inspire you to take bold action in your own business and life.
Stay tuned! I’ll be back with more updates as I dive deeper into this journey and get closer to launching my first episode.
Thanks for following along!
